The people you meet are often a reflection of the perspective you bring. 👣
🌾 A traveler approached an old farmer and asked:
🧍♂️ “What are the people like in the next town?”
👨🌾 The farmer replied,
“What were the people like in the town you just left?”
😒 “They were selfish, dishonest, and unfriendly.”
The farmer simply answered,
“You’ll find the people here much the same.”
Later that day, another traveler stopped and asked the very same question.
👨🌾 Again the farmer asked,
“What were the people like where you came from?”
😊 “They were kind, generous, and welcoming. I hated to leave them.”
The farmer smiled.
“You’ll find the people here much the same.”
🤔 A bystander overheard both conversations and asked,
“How can both answers be true?”
The farmer replied:
💬 “Because wherever we go, we tend to find what we bring with us.”
That statement has challenged me more than once.
Before we judge a city, a church, a workplace, a relationship, or even a new opportunity, maybe the first question isn’t, “What’s wrong with them?”
Maybe it’s…
🪞 “What am I bringing into the room?”
Our attitude influences our experience.
Our expectations shape our interactions.
Our character determines what we’re prepared to recognize in others.
You may not be able to change every environment you enter…
But you can always choose the spirit you bring with you.
⚡ Check your heart.
🧠 Shift your perspective.
🌍 Change your world.
