🪞 THE COST OF CARING 🪞

One of the hardest realities to accept is that sometimes you can pour into people, pray for people, support people, sacrifice for people, and still find yourself rejected, forgotten, misunderstood, or shut out of the very lives you invested in.
That hurts.
💔 It challenges your identity.
💔 It tempts you toward bitterness.
💔 It makes you question whether your investment mattered at all.
But here’s what I’m learning:
Your value is not determined by who chooses to stay connected to you.
Your identity is not defined by who walks away.
Your purpose is not canceled because someone no longer sees your worth.
📖 “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?” — Galatians 1:10
There have been seasons where I had to fight to remain myself. Not the wounded version. Not the offended version. Not the cynical version.
The real me.
The man God called me to be before disappointment arrived.
Because if we’re not careful, rejection can slowly reshape us into someone we don’t recognize.
⚠️ Guard your heart.
⚠️ Protect your peace.
⚠️ Refuse to let offense become your identity.
📖 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
One lesson God continues to teach me is this:
💰 I am currency in God’s Kingdom.
Currency is designed to be spent.
It moves from hand to hand creating value wherever it goes.
Likewise, God often spends us in service to others. Sometimes we give encouragement, wisdom, time, grace, forgiveness, mentorship, support, and love without ever seeing a return.
Yet the investment still matters.
📖 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve…” — Mark 10:45
📖 “I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls.” — 2 Corinthians 12:15
Being “spent” for the Kingdom doesn’t mean being wasted.
It means being used for a purpose greater than yourself.
So if you’ve been rejected…
If you’ve been excluded…
If you’ve been misunderstood…
If you’ve watched relationships change despite your best efforts…
Keep your heart soft.
Keep your hands open.
Keep your eyes on the assignment.
God sees every seed you’ve planted.
🌱 Every conversation.
🌱 Every sacrifice.
🌱 Every prayer.
🌱 Every act of obedience.
Nothing given to God is ever wasted.
🙏 To everyone reading this today:
Don’t let disappointment make you bitter.
Don’t let rejection make you smaller.
Don’t let offense steal your focus.
The people who walked away do not determine your future.
The God who called you does.
