Shoutout to the heroes!
The day is approaching where this medium will no longer be a steady conduit for my voice and the media work I’ve endeavored to do faithfully for years. Until then, I’ll be consistent in thanking all of our friends, family, and viewers for supporting us, subscribing to us, and listening to our incredible shows.
No shade. No sarcasm. This is simply a harbinger of things to come.
I believe that I can be successful in the podcast game without having to be in the never-ending chase for relevance. I’m going to try to prove the doubters wrong.
If you’re in a place where you’re building something that makes people smile at you, salute you, give you a thumbs up, and even tell you they love what you do but it’s not enough to have the kind of tangible support you can see, it hurts but use that pain as fuel to make it to the finish line.
It’s not atypical for people to celebrate you at the summit but they acted like they didn’t know you in the valley. Remember that this is your dream, not theirs. That dream might feed a nation but until you get to the palace, you might have to sit in that prison for a while and you might be forgotten for a season.
If nothing else touches the heart from this post, just know that you got something special. You don’t need to lower yourself to get to the pinnacle of your dream. Observe what the masses do and go the opposite direction.
Don’t lose momentum by looking back (or if you’re in the climb, looking down). There’s nothing and nobody down there at the base of the mountain that can do anything to propel you forward. You’re too close to turn back. It’ll take more effort for you to go backwards than to finish your climb.
